Personal data

The site « www.machobbies.fr » does not request nominative registration from visitors and does not record any nominative data for the simple consultation of its pages.

When using the contact form without first creating a customer account, visitors will be asked to leave their personal e-mail address. An asterisk indicates whether data is mandatory or optional.

In order to be able to follow (ex. maintain a wishlist) or to be able to proceed to the purchase of a product published on the site, the visitor will be asked to connect to a nominative account in order to become a customer of the site. When visiting the site for the first time, visitors will be asked to create a nominative customer account by entering their personal details (gender, first name, surname, delivery/billing address, date of birth, e-mail address and password). An asterisk indicates whether data is mandatory or optional.

No sensitive information is collected from the customer, i.e. no data relating to racial or ethnic origins, political, philosophical or religious opinions, or trade union membership, or relating to the customer’s health or sexual orientation.

Subsequently, information relating to orders placed is stored in the site’s database (product reference and name, purchase date and quantities purchased). No bank details are collected or stored in the site database. All bank details entered during the finalisation of an order placed on the site pass only through secure bank transaction processing platforms. This service is entirely managed by the site’s external service providers (PayPal and Payzen).

For technical reasons, in order to allow correct and optimal operation when using the site, MacHobbies may collect and process data relating to the user’s computer environment on the site side, including cookies, IP address, pages consulted and searches carried out, as well as on the customer’s local computer side, including the type of browser used, operating system model and version, screen resolution and the presence of certain plug-ins, etc.). MacHobbies will also carry out an approximate geolocation of the site user’s hometown. This data will only be used to compile site usage statistics in order to make the site more relevant, to identify companies interested in our products, and to propose advertising offers on and off the site in line with the user’s areas of interest and, where applicable, locality.

Access to personal data

Users who have previously created a customer account have the right to retrieve the data they have provided on the site at any time. The data can be downloaded to the customer’s local browser and then saved on his or her computer in CSV or PDF format.

To do this, in the customer account, select “My personal data” to follow and activate the data export procedure. The customer may also request rectification or total deletion of data stored on the site.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in the user’s local browser when he/she consults the site, provided that the browser settings allow this. Cookies are used to recognise the computer when the user connects to the site in order to:

• To compile statistics and count the number of visitors to and use of the various sections of the site in order to carry out studies aimed at improving content;

• To tailor advertising content to the user’s interests and, possibly, his/her locality, which result from the user’s computer’s browsing data among the site’s sections without us having any personal data enabling us to identify or contact the user directly.

Cookies enable the use of the site’s main functions, such as access to personal customer accounts, or to memorise computer settings (installed languages, display parameters, etc.) and take them into account during visits, depending on the user’s computer graphics and viewing or reading software. They may include social network cookies when the user interacts with them. They can also be used to link the various pages consulted to ensure smooth browsing.

Site users may at any time express or modify their wishes with regard to cookies, and in particular withdraw their consent. To do this, users must configure their browser software so that cookies are stored on their terminal or, conversely, so that they are rejected, either systematically or depending on the site requesting the data. Users can also configure their browsers to accept or reject cookies from time to time, before a cookie is stored on their computer. For cookie management, the configuration of each browser is different. This is described in the browser’s help menu, so that users can find out how to modify their settings.

If the user rejects or deletes cookies, then it is possible that he/she will no longer be able to benefit from certain site functionalities (use of the shopping cart and being able to complete an order).
